Quar casualty

Ryfler Difywdy Marw. Quar casualty

I decided that one of my Quar soldiers will bite the dust (it is War after all) so I started this Casualty Quar figure, Poor little fella step on a mine or was sniped at either way its the end of the road for Ryfler Marw. At this time it is still a WIP with the painting but the figure is done. I used bits and pieces from my Quars as well as a bit of hand made stuff. I don’t think it looks half bad for a casualty marker. I hope you like it and as always feedback is appreciated.

My first figures of the first set of my Quars from Zombiesmith. First let me say these are one of the more original alien designs out there and are wonderful figures to paint, I absolutely love these little guys
. My wish was to go for a more drab uniform for my units, which I think I achieved even thought the pictures are not the best. I have chosen to paint whatever one I picked up out of my box of Quar first so there is not rhyme or reason in the order of things.
The 1st up are, A Ryfler, a Pik Pik messenger squirrel handler and one of my Mortar squads. They were all lots of fun to paint but the assembly was a bit of a bother. They are not all that hard to do but those skinny arms and heads are a pain in the neck. If you plan on doing some Quar in the future I would suggest drilling out the arm and neck area to enlarge the openings, I found this to be a great help when assembling the figures. One of the greatest things about these figures is that they come with all sorts of extra little bits each figure has a choice of heads and packs and other cool stuff to add on, so that you can make the same figure in many different ways. All in all the Quars are tops in my book. As always I hope you like them and feedback is welcome.

Rose Farm

This is Rose farm, the main house and the spring kitchen; the set also included the outhouse that I had posted previously. The set is from architectural heritage and is a large heavy well made set with little or no flaws to speak of. I had purchased this set at least 10 years ago (I think) at one of the historicons. I found it to be a really fun set to paint up which I did last year. There is a listing for the main farm house on E- Bay and I thought you might like to set it painted up. Any feedback is always welcomed

I just finish an Old Saloon I had from what I think is Hovel miniatures? I was still fun to paint but was not my favorite piece due to lots of flaws in the casting (which you should see in the pictures). It’s a rather small building compared to Arnica Montana and other Manufactures that I am using, but I had it, so it got painted. It also did not get the interior treatment that I have been doing for my other buildings because it’s hollow but not hollow enough for the inside to be done. I do have a Saloon that will be done in the future and will have the interior. Any comments are appreciated. Thanks. Bandit86

Poor Pedros

A small addition to my town of Hellish Wells. I believe Poor Pedro’s Hovel is from J&R miniature but not sure. This was fun to paint up because I was able to do the whole thing in a few hours. Once again the interiors were bits and pieces from all over the place but worked well together for this humble dwelling. The only thing I want to add is a small chiminea in the corner of the hut. I figured it was way to humble for a pot bellied stove. Flanagan’s Stable (minus any Horses, it’s been a bad week for Flanagan) is close to being done I just want to hit it with some dull coat, and will get some pictures up soon. I hope you all like my site and are enjoying my work. Thanks, Bandit86

Coming up

What got me into miniatures and interiors (see side link to Colleen Moore’s' doll house)

Coming up for Hellish Wells. A small Mexican Hovel, Flanagan’s Livery the Gun shop and Mary Overbies dress shop. I was going to use Mary Janes dress shop with a decal from Old Glory http://www.oldglory25s.com/index.php?page=4&cat_id=83 but so far not only do the decals come off the paper but the ink comes off too :( I do however recommend Old Glory’s interiors sets. http://www.oldglory25s.com/index.php?page=3&cat_id=83

The most important building in town.

This was one of my first buildings. I can not remember the company’s name that makes it but it was part of a set with a House, summer kitchen and the outhouse. They are very nice, well made and were fun to paint. More to come. Next up "Flanagan’s stables"
